Novice "AE" - Novice AE Dream Team Roster Complete!

The Novice AE's have chosen some oldies and goodies to put together a Dream Team roster matching our Clipper jersey numbers.  WELL DONE TEAM!!!! There are some sharp shooters on the roster, so check them out on the next page and take some inspiration Clippers!

As a special treat, the team will be treated to some NHL fame and fun on February 25th, heading down to the ACC to see the Toronto Maple Leafs face off against Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.

He has hard shots, lots of assists, and plays on the first line with Jonathan Toews. He was born in 1983.

Booby Orr is the only defenceman to win the scoring title, not once, but twice.  He also won the Stanley Cup twice.

Sammy Salo

in NHL for 15 years to date

He is Assistant Captain for the Vancouver Canucks, but he was traded from Ottawa Senators in 2002. He is from Finland, born in 1977. He won a silver medalin the World Finals, and one in the Winter Olympics for Finland. In 2006 in a super competition his shot was recorded at 163.5 km/hr.

He was born in 1928. He was known for “the Gordie Howe Hat-Trick” which was: A Goal, An Assist & A Fight.

Alex “Pats” Delvecchio

He is Canadian, and played for the Oshawa Generals for one season. No one has played more games with one team in the NHL than Delvecchio. He has the 2nd highest career assists (825). His jersey was retired in Joe Louis arena and he was put in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1977.

Mark Messier

25 years in NHL

Mark Messier has won 6 Stanley Cups, 5 with the Oilers and 1 with the Rangers. He was a tough player, and among the best leaders in the NHL. His number was retired by the Oilers and the Rangers. Messier did commercials for Lays Potatoe Chips; this is interesting because our #11 (Jacob) was born on National Chip Day!

Yvan Cournoyer

16 years in NHL from 63-79

He was born in Drummondville, Quebec. Yvan became captain of the Canadiens in 1975. His nickname was the Roadrunner. He won the Stanley Cup 10 times and once earned the Conn Smythe Trophy for being the playoff MVP in 1973. His jersey was retired by the Canadiens in 2005 to honour Yvan Cournoyer.

He was 5th in draft pick in 2000 by the NY Islanders. He was born in Toronto in 1991 and is 30 years old. He shoots left (just like Cal!). In 2001 he scored the game winning goal for Team Canada to win the bronze medal.

Richards was drafted 4th overall in the OHL, and drafted 24th in 2003 in the NHL. He was captain of the Flyers (since traded); he has won a Memorial Cup, a Calder Cup and a gold medal for Team Canada in 2010. Mike Richards was born in 1985 in Kenora, Ontario.
