Major Atom "AE" - ATOM AE Peterborough "Under the Lock" Tournament Winners

The Atom AE team won the Peterborough "Under the Lock" Tournament on the weekend of January 28th. This was their 2nd tournament win this season, having also taken the championship from their Montreal tournament in December.

The Peterborough tournament was played outdoors on the Trent Canal with challenging ice conditions. The team had a lot of fun and played amazing.

Congratulations boys! Job well done.

Thanks to the coaching staff for their outstanding leadership and guidance.

Getting back to basic hockey – skating, passing and stick-handling – the boys came home champions from the Oshawa Heritage non-contact Tournament.

On the weekend of January 21-22, 2012, Atom House League team Cascades Recovery participated in the Cooksville Tournament of Champions. Teams from various points in Ontario participated, and it was our own Cascades Recovery that captured the final championship title and the Kielpinksi Divisional Trophy. A hearty congratulations goes out to the coaching staff, parents, and most of all the players, whose heart and determination brought them to that final game. Also a big thank you to the players for their sportsmanship and great attitude while representing our hockey community!
Congratulations guys!!! Way to go!!

Juvenile - Wintry Weekend - Ajax and Orono

A close 2-1 loss to the Knights on Friday featured a goal that was called off and some good play from both teams.

The Sunday Leafs game marked our final game with Orono...some consistently questionable non-calls and take no prisoners play from the opposition left most of us happy to be heading back home.

What's up next...the playoffs loom!!

Novice "AE" - Novice AE Finishes Innisfil with 4 Straight Wins to Take Series

The Novice AE Clippers achieved 4 back to back wins, getting stronger through the series against their rivals, the Innisfil Winterhawks.

The coach was supremely impressed after game 3, as the Clippers brought out one of their best games to date to win 4-0. The team showed excellent back checking, passing and all round hustle. Gabriel was on fire, scoring all four goals, helped by team mates passing and maintaining hard pressure in the offensive zone. Game 3 was big-man Nick VK's 13th shut-out of the season, for once having some respite as the team kept the shots on net to a minimum.

The Novice AE's have chosen some oldies and goodies to put together a Dream Team roster matching our Clipper jersey numbers. WELL DONE TEAM!!!! There are some sharp shooters on the roster, so check them out on the next page and take some inspiration Clippers!

As a special treat, the team will be treated to some NHL fame and fun on February 25th, heading down to the ACC to see the Toronto Maple Leafs face off against Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.
