Player Evaluations for 2024 -2025 season

U8, U9, U18 & Select evaluations will be in the fall of 2024
All Players must be registered through the online Hockey Canada Registration (HCR) website and their WSMHA registration fee paid (or proof of postdated payment\plan) before they are eligible to try out for a WSMHA Rep and RS team. WSMHA Registration payment can be made by credit card, cash, or cheque.

Spring Player Evaluations:
|
Spring Player Evaluations will be for players U10 (2015) to U18 (2007/2008) starting April 27, 2024
|

Fall Player Evaluations:
|
Fall tryouts will be for players U8 (2017), U9 (2016) starting September 2024 and U18 (2007/2008) will conclude in the fall.
**The two sessions for U18 listed in the calendar are preliminary evaluations and final evaluations will resume in the fall.**

Select Player Evaluations:
|
Player Evaluations for Select at all age groups will take place in September/October 2024. Additional information will be posted in late August or early September.

Player Evaluation Registration:
|
Step 1: Hockey Canada Registration Link Players must be registered with Hockey Canada in order to participate in the Evaluations.
Step 2: U10 - U16 Evaluation Registration
To help speed up the process at the registration table, please fill in the WSMHA Evaluation Registration form a minimum of 3 days prior to the evaluation session.

Player Evaluation Fees:
|
There is a flat fee of $80 per player for 2024-25 Player Evaluations. Please note: There are no refunds. No Cash will be accepted at the Player Evaluation Desk: We accept Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Android Pay and Debit.

Player Evaluation Jerseys:
|
A loaner jersey with a number will be provided to players for evaluations. Goalies are asked to bring their own jersey.

Under 10 to Under 18:
|
Any player hoping to play REP hockey (AA or A) for Stouffville is expected to attend the AA evaluation for their age group. However, for players who do not wish to participate in a league where body checking is permitted are not required to attend AA or A Player Evaluations i.e., they can wait and attend BB Evaluations only if offered.
U12 and up players who try for but fail to obtain a spot on the AA may request an “NRP Passport” if it is determined that there is no Stouffville A Player Evaluations at that level and may attend “A” Player Evaluations at a nearby “A” center. Such players are still eligible to return to Stouffville to try for BB if applicable. Please note: NRP passports to try out at an “A” center will not be issued to players who do not first attend AA Player Evaluations.

Under-age Players:
|
Players who wish to try out for a Stouffville AA rep team in the next older age group may do so if they obtain a permission-to-skate from the WSMHA Hockey Office prior to the tryout. This is only an option for AA levels.

Formation of Teams Note:
|
The formation of all teams is dependent on having enough players and goalies, and the availability of a coaching staff. The WSMHA cannot guarantee that all teams listed will be rostered. No tryout refunds will be given if a team cannot be formed.

NRP Info:
|
Non resident players (NRP) with a "passport" (for AA teams) are not required to register and pay the WSMHA Registration Fee before Player Evaluations but they must complete the WSMHA REP Player Evaluation Registration form and pay the evaluation fee.

AAA Tryouts:
|
Any Stouffville resident planning to attend a AAA try out must obtain a permission-to-skate form from the Hockey Office prior to the try evaluations. You will not be allowed on the ice without this form. Stouffville residents may try out for Markham Waxers at AAA; they may try out with another AAA team if they first obtain a permission-to-skate from the Waxers.
