TRYOUTS FOR 2017 - 2018 SEASON
Tryouts for 2017-18 will begin April 20 for rep teams from Novice to Minor Midget.
Flat rate of TBD for tryouts will be required at the first tryout (cash only)
NOTE: All goalies trying out for a rep team must attend the goalie session Thursday, April 20 on Pad A (6-7pm for Novice to Minor Peewee; 7-8pm for Peewee to Min Midget). There is no charge for this goalie session.
Goalies must attend all the team tryouts and they must pay the tryout fee for those sessions.
Tyke MD, Tyke RS and Major Midget AA and A will hold tryouts in late August and early September.
Tyke MD and Tyke RS (born in 2010) - $15 per tryout - (please bring a jersey with a number)
Midget AA and A (born in 2000 and 2001) - TBD flat fee (includes a tryout jersey)
Also beginning in September, we will hold tryouts for the following Rostered Select teams:
IP Rostered Select (born in 2011)
Novice Rostered Select (born in 2009)
Minor Atom Rostered Select (born in 2008)
Atom Rostered Select (born in 2007)
Minor Peewee Rostered Select (born in 2006)
Peewee Rostered Select (born in 2005)
Minor Bantam Rostered Select (born in 2004)
Bantam Rostered Select (born in 2003)
Minor Midget Rostered Select (born in 2002)
$20 per tryout (2 tryouts are scheduled) Note: players trying out for all RS teams should bring a jersey with a number to tryouts.
Midget Rostered Select (born in 2000 and 2001) A decision whether to have a Major Midget RS team will depend on the number of players that are available following the Midget AA and A tryouts; and the availability of a coaching staff. Tryouts would be held in mid to late September.
PLEASE NOTE THAT FORMATION OF ALL TEAMS ARE DEPENDENT ON HAVING ENOUGH PLAYERS AND GOALIES; AND THE AVAILABILITY OF A COACHING STAFF. THE WSMHA CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT ALL TEAMS LISTED WILL BE ROSTERED PRIOR TO TRYOUTS. MINOR AND MAJOR AGE GROUPS MAY BE COMBINED TO FORM A TEAM.
NO TRYOUT REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN IF A TEAM CANNOT BE FORMED.
Players must be registered through the online Hockey Canada website and their registration fee paid before they are eligible to try out for a Rep/RS team.
Note: Non resident players with a "passport" (trying out for Midget AA) from their home centre are not required to register before tryouts.

To help speed up the lines at the registration table, please register with Hockey Canada and also fill in the WSMHA Try Out Form a minimum of 3 days prior to your child's first tryout date to ensure their name appears on the list. If their name is not on the list, you will be required to fill in a registration and tryout form when you arrive at the arena and before the player can participate in the tryout.
