Midgets Tournament Champions
The Midget AE team goes undefeated in the Lincoln All Star Challenge this weekend.

The weekend started with an early game on Friday morning against the Grimsby Kings. Down 1-0 in the 3rd period, the Clippers came back and tied the game. It ended in a 1-1 draw. Goal by Mike Messina.

Game 2 Friday afternoon verses the Ennismore Eagles, Stouffville took an early lead in the 1st period. The 2nd period, the teams exchanged goals to head into the 3rd period tied at 2. A couple of minutes into the 3rd, the Clippers took the lead and solidified the win with 2 more goals to finish the game 5-2. Goals by Ryan Tammisto, Michael Fang, Matthew Hodgins and a pair from Michael Svirk.

Back down the QEW Saturday for another early game against the Mount Brydges Cougars. A scoreless 1st period lead to a 2-1 lead at the end of the 2nd. A couple of more goals in the 3rd and the Clippers walked away with a 4-2 victory. Goals by Andrew Levesque, Liam Macinnis, Michael Fang and Michael Svirk.

After a long break and a last minute arena change, Stouffville was in a must win game against the Penetang Flames. The winner would move on to the championship game on Sunday afternoon. The boys came out strong and took an early 2-0 lead in the 1st period. A 3rd goal at the beginning of the 3rd had the players determined that they were going to move on. Penetang scored to put up a fight. A minute later, Hodgins sent a message that their fight wasn't enough, now 4-1, the Clippers weren't going to give up. A 5th goal soon after put the game away. Time ticked away and the Clippers move on to the Championship game with a 5-1 victory. Other goals by Michael Fang, Cole Burrows, Andrew Levesque and Matthew Gordon.

Now Sunday, high noon, back in Beamsville to play the Kings to continue the 1-1 tie from Friday morning. Gordon doesn't waste time netting a goal 2 minutes into the game, he showed the Kings the boys were here to play. Relentless forechecking, tenacious back checking, the 3rd periods starts and it's still 1-0. The Kings tie the game, but again, the Clippers didn't waste time, 50 seconds later, Tammisto makes it 2-1. A minute and a half later, Levesque buys the team some insurance, 3-1, with 5 minutes left.  Tough defensive hockey, time ticking away and the Clippers become the champions.

What a great way to start the season for a team with players from 2 age groups, 2001 and 2002 that have never played together before. After only a few practices and 2 regular season games, the players were able to combine their different skills and play as a team.

The remaining players that played their hearts out are, on defence, Jared Henriques, Liam Clements, Ben Veitch, Jonah Barclay and Jason DeVitt. Our forwards are Robbie Harder and Patrick Cummins. Last but not least, the 2 goal keepers Jacob Butler and Ethan Volpe who combined only had 7 goals in 5 games scored on them.
