HEAD COACH - SCOTT DUNCAN
BACKGROUND
I am thrilled to be selected as the U8 MD head coach this upcoming season. My family and I live in Stouffville and have for 9 years. I played AAA throughout my minor hockey. I played multiple seasons of Junior B and then Junior A with the Hamilton Red Wings. Post junior hockey I made the decision to continue hockey at Brock University while I studied Geography/Sports Management. Upon completion of University and a few years playing senior hockey, I played 1 year minor professionally in the SPHL. My experience in many levels of hockey will allow me to work with the kids to continue their development.
PHILOSOPHY
My past hockey experience will lead to growth on and off the ice for the kids. Not only growth and development on the ice but enjoying the time together as a group of friends off the ice. I want to have the kids come to practice focused and having fun. We will learn about teamwork and sportsmanship which ultimately will make the game fun for the kids. I will work individually and as a team on skating mechanics, puck control, passing and shooting. The development of these skills will allow the kids to gain confidence and ultimately grow into good people and community members.
