Boyd's Super Sport Players of the Week
Montreal Players of the Week this week were MAX A, and GRIFFIN B....for the full story from Coach Rocky read on...

Saturday November 12th/2011: Our player of the game is Max Abdee. Max is the definition of “Team Player”. He is always willing to take on the task that will most help his team compete for the upcoming game. This game, Max was asked to play Defense instead of his customary position at Right Wing. He took on the challenge and played the position with his usual energy and excitement. He was in the “right spot at the right time” and did not allow the opposition many scoring opportunities. In between his shifts, Max received some situational advice from an assistant coach to adjust to the play as it evolved. Max, who always willing to listen, made the necessary adjustments and helped to ensure an 8 -5 victory for his team.

Congratulations Max!

Tuesday, November 15/2011: Our player of the game is Griffin Branch. Griffin asked to play in goal and it was his turn. At the start of the game, the play was in our end for the majority of the first shift and Griffin made some key saves. This was significant because it allowed the rest of the team to pick up their game and eventually start scoring. The team would eventually amass a 5-0 lead early in the second period and it seemed like the game was well in hand. Griffin’s teammates decided that the game was all but over and that is when the game really started. From the middle of the second period, the opposition pressured the puck and took the play to us. This is when Griffin was at his best. He responded to the pressure and stopped shot after shot. True, the opposition scored 4 goals by the time the game was over but had it not been for Griffin we would have lost the game. Instead, Griffin’s played helped his team to a 7 – 4 win.

Congratulations Griffin!
