Our player of the game is Rogan Wawryk. Rogan is one of our better defensemen who is reliable and steady on his skates. He has good hockeysense and is usually in the proper position to counter the opposition’s attack. This ability allows Rogan to break up the opposition’s play andturn the puck up the ice to one of his forwards. It is Rogan’s solid defensive play that gives his team a chance to win every week. This time ithelped his team to a close 5 -4 win. Good defensive ability is sometimes overlooked on a team that scores as many goals as we do… but not by hiscoach.

Our player of the game is Kyle Frost. Kyle is a talented player who enjoys playing the game. He is among the leading goal scorers on the team but has recently shown another side to his game. Kyle has become aware ofthe importance of his defensive responsibility while on the ice. While Kyle knows where to position himself in the offensive zone and scoring goals appearsto be effortless, Kyle has had to work at his defensive game. Once Kyle understood that preventing goals in his zone was just as important as scoring goals he was able to make the adjustment. In this particular game, Kyle scored 3 goals in a 7 – 4 win. But it was his defensive play and constant back checking that earned him the player of the game award.
