OMHA Weekend Report
The Minor Atom AE Clippers kicked off their first round of OMHA's this weekend, going in as underdogs in fourth spot against the formidable power of first placed TNT.
TNT took control in game 1, putting up 5 unanswered goals from the first puck drop through to the third period.
Game 2 saw a different Clipper team come out to play, challenging TNT stride for stride and coming back with each of the first 2 goals scored, holding the line at a 2-2 tie, fending off a number of penalties, until TNT put up #3 with 3 minutes to go.
Knowing the odds may be against you doesn't make the losses any easier. The Clippers were certainly off the mark for game 1, but came back strong for game 2. The play was competitive and the outcome was never guaranteed either way. TNT showed great tenacity and teamwork, a hard combination to break, but the Clippers showed heart and strength in this outing.
The best news? The Clippers still have lots of room to improve their game, and a few better bounces could swing the pendulum next Thursday in New Tecumseth.
TNT will have home ice advantage and are now up 2 games in the first to 3 wins or 6 points. So hang on Clipper fans and bring out your team spirit for game #3 later this week. Let's make them work for it Clippers!!! Let's play our best game ever this Thursday!!!
