Atom AE Clippers - Rochester Tournament Finalists!
Congratulations to the Atom AE Clippers - Tournament Championship finalists in the Squirt A division of the Presidential Power Play
Tournament in Rochester, NY!
During an extremely fun and exciting tournament weekend, the Atom AE Stouffville Clippers won their first two games to open the Rochester tournament, beating the Niagara Purple Eagles and Capital City Vipers. Their next game saw them play the Webster Cyclones to a 3-3 tie. Being undefeated, the Clippers went into the semi-final in first place and facing the Ottawa West Golden Knights. The Knights and the Clippers battled in a very tight game that resulted in a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation time. Overtime solved nothing and the Clippers went on to win the game in a very exciting shootout. That win put the Clippers into the Championship game where they faced the Buffalo Shamrocks. The two teams traded goals and chances back and forth and ultimately the game went into overtime, where the Shamrocks prevailed with a late goal.
The young Clippers played extremely well throughout the whole tournament, making the parents and coaches very proud of their efforts.
