The team is out of the gates quickly this year, and with a number of games already under their belts, the team is showing all the classic stages of TEAM DEVELOPMENT:
FORMING.... NORMING.... and no doubt They will soon be STORMING.
Ok, maybe that's not quite the business model, but we can all be sure that the Minor Peewee AE team has a lot of talent and potential wound up in their sticks, their hands, their skates and once they all connect the dots in their heads, they will be a force to contend with.
Just ask the Markham Waxers, who went down to defeat after the Clippers put one in off a beautiful tip (McKnight from point shot by Tratnik). This goal was called back to the cheers of the Waxers, who quickly learned the Clippers don't stop. Olidis went on to put 3 between the posts with great assistance from his line mates and the defense.
Our goalies, Volpe and Ogden have been solid in keeping the rubber on the right side of the line, and our defense have done a great job movingthe puck up to the wingers, and out of the "danger zone".
Our nemesis, so far, has been the penalty box, as the Peewees come into their first season of body checking and the 4 minute "headshot" calls abound, along with CFB (check from behind), and the classic HOOK and TRIP calls still mark up the game sheet. No doubt things will settle down and the team will bring up their skills and their specialty team plays for both the PK and the PP asthey get more training time with the coaches.
So far, so good - lots of potential in the path ahead. KEEP UP THE HARD WORK EVERYONE!!!
