Family Fun!
After a couple of games the past week. A loss to Newmarket, an amazing tie against Markham and win against Orillia. The kids all working hard and had some exciting and terrific games. The week came to an end with a family fun day!!
First came the game of parents against kids. With Matt in the net for the kids and Brando in the net for the adults it was a tight and fun game.
The kids were pumped and confident for a win. But the parents said they were ready and they were going to win. Ha-ha.
Out they all came with determination and winning in their eyes.
They had their warm up, especially needed for the parents. Then the action started with the parents getting the first goal, not sure who scored first for the parents, but Nick got a goal so he says. Then the kids answered back when Nicholas scored for the kids with help from his line mates David and John. So, then there was apparently a goal from Roy, who I think John would have got the better of him. And during dinner Jeff Elder mentioned a goal that he got, but nobody remembers that one either. I think the parents who were holding, tripping and most of the time off side. Were just hoping to win and didn't want to admit that the kids got the better of them. Where was the referee anyway??
Joe took the face off against Matthew and of course Matthew beat him every time...ha-ha. Jeff Mason, took out his son Sebastian in front of the parents net as he was going in for a shot. I think Jeff was nervous that Seb was going to get around him.
The moms were out there passing and shooting the puck. Cori got past Sara, but Sara chased her down and got the puck back and fired it out of the kids zone.
Jen and Cindy were out there getting the puck, passing and shooting and helping their team. You could see how their boys were smiling and enjoying the chance to play with their moms. Even with Jen making snow angels as Hayden stood beside her watching and laughing. Way to go moms, you are very brave!
After the game we had a family skate. It was nice to be out on the ice together with our families, chasing the kids around, brothers and sisters getting a chance to play, skate together and of course the boys all trying to take down the monstrous Fam Sr. Which I don't remember if they ever did get him down.
Then came the finale, dinner at Boston Pizza. The kids took over the restaurant, bouncing and laughing with each other with excitement. Poor waitress who had the misfortune of pulling in that shift. LOL!
But it was nice being able to sit with each other and enjoy a meal as the amazing hockey family that we are!!!
What a day!! Special thanks to Cori, who of course planned everything and did another great job!
