Clippers Picking Up Points Seeking to End the Season Strong
The Clippers are working off the chill, with back to back post holiday and post ice storm games. Atom AE hosted Barrie Colts on Saturday, and skated to a strong victory, putting up 6 goals, with great scoring distribution....

Evan opened up the score board assists to Charlie and David.  Barrie answered in the next shift, ending the scoring for the first period.  David pulled the team ahead mid way through the second, which rallied the team as Dylan (assisted by Connor), and Jesse (assisted by Evan and Mick), put up two more quick goals before the buzzer.  Matty Luff pushed up the scoreboard further at 724 of the third and again with just under 2 minutes to go.  (assisted by Cal and Dylan for the fifth goal, and Dylan and Owen for the final strike).  Barrie eked in one more in the third, but never appeared to be a real threat to the strong momentum, aggressive defensive play of the Clippers.  Coach Ross commented, "This is probably one of our best games all season.  The kids executed thec game plan perfectly".  Craig shared Ross' accolades to the team for their excellent passing and thoroughly committed team play.

The Clippers continued on Sunday in Richmond Hill, and once again played a strong game.  The results did not bounce in the Clippers' favor, however, notwithstanding a great game, well played.  The final scoreboard was 1-0 oft the home team.  Ethan played spectacularly in both these games, making key saves and keeping the team in the game throughout.

with a practice as an interlude on Monday, the march toward playoffs continued in Sutton as our ice storm reschedule had us driving north in the deep freeze.  The rink felt toasty compared to the minus 25 plus windchill outside.  It felt warmer still as Ethan earned a shut-out, with great support from his d-men and strong backchecking support.  The Clippers moved the puck well, and kept a lot of pressure in the offensive zone.  Excellent work to hold the blue line and regain control of loose pucks meant that the Clippers were able to dominate the game.  Hats off to the Georgina goalie for making some great saves to hold the score to 4-0.

Back at it tomorrow .... once gain in Georgina.  Every game counts as the Clippers look to maximize their points in the final standings.

Regular season concludes on January 19th, and the Clippers have 5 more W's to fight for.  Go Clippers Go!
