Peewee AE Clippers take title
Ryan Cusack scored a pair of goals to propel the Stouffville Peewee AE Clippers to a 5 - 3 win over the Barrie Colts in the final of the Guelph Power Play Tournament.

Liam Sitlani, Mathieu Kovac and Michael Creeggan added single tallies for the Clippers. Nick Olidis and Robert Hume each collected a pair of assists while Nathan Tratnik, Christopher Leinwand, Bradon Smith, Jack Boston and Franco Minaudo each had one. Ethan Volpe was in goal for the Clippers.
    
The Clippers got of to a good start in the tournament by routing the Cobourg Cougars 8-2 on Friday morning. Kovac recorded the hat trick while Smith added a pair of goals and had one assist to ignite the Clippers' offence. Mitchell Risto, leinwand and Olidis each had single tallies. Tim Arnold, Boston, Sitlani, Tratnik, Jacob Turney and Jack Valleau had assists.

Facing the Orangeville Flyers Friday afternoon, the Clippers got a goal from Kovac to salvage a 1-1 tie. Creeggan earned an assist.

Buoyed by a solid net minding effort from Evan Farrell and a balanced scoring attack, the Clippers blanked the Pickering Panthers 5-0 on Saturday. Smith, Risto, Ryan Cusack, Kovac and Olidis each scored once. Hume and Minaudo each earned two assists while Kovac, Valleau, Turney and Smith each had one.

The Clippers lone set back in the tournament came Saturday afternoon in the final game of the round robin when they came out on the short end of a 2-1 decision against the Hamilton Tigers. Hume had the goal for the Clippers.

The Clippers advanced to the semi-final where a 5 minute 3 on 3 overtime couldn't decide the game. A shoot out was required and the Clippers edged out the Guelph Gryphons 4-3. Trailing 3-2 with 1 minute and 29 seconds remaining in regulation time, the Clippers pulled goalkeeper Farrell in favour of an extra attacker and got the equalizer to force overtime with 33 seconds left.

"Overall the kids had solid games, with lots of back checking and winning the battles in the corners" said head coach Brad Boston. "Everyone gave 100 percent effort when they were on the ice and never quit" Assisting Boston were Mark Turney, Aniel Sitlani and trainer Joe Kovac.
