Meeting a New Team and Old Rivals
The weekend started with a drive up too Barrie.  This was the first time to meet and play them, so the kids and coaches didn't know what to expect and were excited to see how they played.  The kids played well and tried hard, Barrie was a tough team.  The team will be ready next time they play them.
Sunday to Newmarket for the first game of the season against them.  The kids were pumped and happy to have a chance to play another game on the weekend and against a team they had played last year.

Into the 1st period Newmarket scored 2 goals.  But the kids kept at them and they kept working hard.
In the 2nd period the team answered back with Mason scoring a goal with help from his teammates, Lucas and Jaiden.  The defence were tough on the blue line and were protecting their end as much as possible.  Joseph was playing strong and was trying hard to keep the puck out of the net.  The forwards were skating hard and kept getting shots on Newmarket's net.  Fam scored with a pass from Nicholas making it 2-2.
Newmarket came back and scored in the 3rd period.  The game was very exciting and the kids played strong.

The next weekend Newmarket came to Stouffville, there was no scoring in the 1st period.  The teams were both working hard and getting the shots on each others net, but no luck.  The kids were keeping it in the Newmarket end most of the period, but just couldn't get it past their goalie.
Then in the 2nd period JP got the first goal of the game with help from his team mates.  Newmarket was trying hard to get one past them but couldn't with the defence digging it out of the corners, the forwards taking the puck down to the Newmarket end and Luca with some great saves.  The period ended 1-0.
Into the 3rd period the kids were really determined and worked hard.  The defence was playing strong, they were quick to get back Savannah, Sara and Cole C. out skated and got the puck away from them.  Some were pinching and rushing in...Jack, Francesco and Cole R. got some shots on net as well.  Luca was solid in between the pipes and helped to keep the lead.
Late in the 3rd, Newmarket broke through and scored to end the game in a tie.
What a Game!!!!
