REP - Major Atom AE - Gold Medal Champions at Pickering Panthers Spring Thaw Tournament
Congratulations to the Major Atom AE Clippers! The team won all of their six games this past Easter Weekend to capture the Gold at the Pickering Spring Thaw Tournament.
Good Friday began with an impressive 8-2 victory defeating the Uxbridge Stars, followed bv a 4-1 win over Orillia Terriers. On Saturday the Clippers defeated the Pickering Panthers 6-3, and the Peterborough Petes 5-3. The Clippers placed first in the round robin to make it to the semi finals Easter Sunday, defeating the Orillia Terriers 3-0. The team played a remarkable game on Sunday afternoon, capturing the gold from the Peterborough Petes by a score of 3-2 in a hard fought over time match up.
The Atom AE Clippers started our great 2014/2015 hockey season with a Gold medal win at the Markham Early Bird in September. This Gold Medal win in Pickering completes our season. The team should be commended on their outstanding tournament. They showed determination and hard work throughout all the games. The coaching staff and parents are very proud of their champions as it was a full team effort.
