Shooting Stars Shut Out As Clippers Hold Home Team over a Barrow
The MPW crew set out to Elgin Barrow, down a few players but ready to give the Stars a hard time.

The first period saw the Clippers a bit slow to start on the board, but Nick finally broke the spell, putting up the first point, assisted by Dylan at 2:04.  The scoreboard stayed at 1-0 for the next 7 or so minutes, until Jesse made good on a break away back-hander over the pads, unassisted at 9:49 of the second.

That was enough to get the shooters fired up, and the next goal went to Connor (playing forward for this game to cover for Charlie), assisted by Ben at 6:10 of the second.

By this point, we were dropping fire power, as first Evan and next Ben both sat out nursing flu symptoms.  With 3-0 on the board the coaches rested the boys in sick-bay, and mixed and matched the line ups.  It didn't take long before Gilmour joined them, icing his hand, following a hard break away rush to the net, only to fly over the RH goalie's poke check.  The mix-ups continued and Nick found the back of the net again, this time assisted by Michael, making it 4-0 by the end of the 2nd.

The third period saw 2 more Clipper points (Jesse, from Mick and Michael at 4:10 and Connor short handed from Alec at 1:20 remaining).

Final score: a resounding 6-0 decision.

While the Clippers dominated the scoreboard, the Stars could easily have had a few goals of their own but for excellent glove saves and coverage down low by Ethan.  This was well earned shut out number 2 for our number 31!  Special mention to Evan Carter (sporting Charlie`s 91 jersey) for strong play as a call up to cover for David today.  Excellent hustle by Geiger and Burrows contributed to the win, and strong play from Luff, Cavanagh kept the forward momentum.

Congrats on the win Clippers!!
