The Clippers opened their regular season with a win over the Aurora Tigers on Saturday afternoon at CC1.
With Head Coach Miguel unavailable for bench duties, Assistants Coaches Pat, Jeff, and Angelo ably directed the game plan. The 1st period was closely fought with neither squad able to get anything by the two netminders.
In the 2nd period a rash of penalties by Aurora took its toll with Clippers' forwards Ferrara, Aitoro, and Cusack finding the twine to springboard the home squad to a 3-0 lead after two periods.
The 3rd period saw the Clippers continue to show great energy and consistency of effort, shutting down any chances for the Tigers, preserving the 3-0 victory and the shutout for goalie Von Kaufman, and showing their fans and coaches that all the extra dry-land training may well pay dividends.
