ROUND ONE
The Peewee AE Clippers are off to a good start in the OMHA Playoffs.
Facing Richmond Hill in the 1st round the Clippers skated off with a 4-3 win. The game had everyone on the edge of their seat as the score went back and forth. Faced with many short-handed shifts, the Clippers needed to step up and focus to ensure they remained on top. The defence worked hard with the forwards to keep the puck away from our net. The Clippers started off with a goal by Carson W, assisted by Michael V with a minute and 9 seconds left in the 1st period. The Stars evened the score early in the second period. In the third period the Clippers once again took the lead with an unassisted goal by Brett M. Halfway through the third period the Stars evened it up once again. The Clippers came back to take the lead with their third goal 13 seconds later off the stick of Carson W, assisted by Brody K. With just over five minutes left in the third, the Stars came back to even the score. The Clippers kicked into high gear trying to take the lead in the round with a win in regulation and that is what they did. With a minute and 3 seconds left in the game Tyler B took off with the puck, passed to him by Brody K, and got it past the Star's goalie to give the Clippers the lead once again and the win.
Clippers face the Stars in game 2 of the series on Wednesday January 19th @ 6:15PM, Stouffville Arena Pad "A".
