The Minor Bantam AE boys faced off against EG last night at the Clipper Complex.
The 1st period seemed to be fairly even, however the Clippers were outshot 6-1 to start. They kicked into high gear close to the beginning of the second period with an unassisted goal by Carter King. That was followed by another top shelf goal by Tyler Wright assisted by Liam Timewell. The third period had the boys working hard to maintain the lead and they were able to add 3 more goals to the scoreboard. Goals in the third period by Tyler Wright (unassisted), Jackson Newlands (assist Quintin Volpe) and Luke Burkholder (assist Newlands and Timewell). BJ Ivanovski maintained good positioning in net to nab his first shut out of the season.
The boys are finished with league play for the week as they head to the Stoney Creek Ace Bailey Tournament this Friday October 22nd. Their first game of the tournament will be their OMHA finals opponent from last season, Caledon. They will go on to play Innisfil on Friday evening. Having played those 2 games it will be determined who we face-off with on Saturday.
