A Range of Options As a community minor hockey association the WSMHA’s primary mandate is to provide our members with the widest possible range of options when it comes to youth hockey.  Key factors in determining the range of options include, of course, the size of the player pool and availability of facilities.  Within these parameters we currently offer recreational programs for players aged five to twenty and for most cohorts a choice of two competitive/representative programs (AA and A) for players seven through eighteen. Stouffville Clippers U16 MD team attended the March to the Hills Tournament (March 11-13). Our team won our 2 round robin games against Brampton & Newmarket and tied the third game against Halton Hills.  A win over Newmarket in the semi finals secured our spot against Halton Hills Thunder in Sunday’s finals. No one would have imagined what we were in store for.   In the Gold medal game, the Clippers were well matched against the Halton Hills team. Both teams came out strong and were determined to get on the scoreboard quickly because of the short 10-minute periods. 

As this season approaches the end, it's time for the annual awards.  Nominations will be accepted until end of day on Sunday April 3 2022 and can be handed into the hockey office or emailed to [email protected] 

The WSMHA has received a number of questions re: potential changes to our hockey programming for next season- particularly as it relates to some of the younger cohorts. Hopefully what follows will provide some clarity as to our plans for 2022-23.
