The WSMHA was advised late last week by the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville that an ice-making equipment failure at Stouffville Arena will delay the scheduled availability of this facility for several weeks.  While the Clipper Complex is not impacted, the WSMHA requires both facilities for full implementation of our programs. The WSMHA Board is currently assessing the impact of this delay on our plans including potential schedule and fee adjustments.  We will keep you informed as more information becomes available.

Registration for the 2020 - 2021 season is now open. All the information required is located under the Registration tab on our website. There are a few steps to follow in order to complete your registration. Read thru the "Must Read Information & Transfer Procedure " page to see if any of those circumstanaces apply to you. Also read thru the "Registration Info & Links" page for details pretaining to this years registration.

Under the "Registration" tab you'll find more helpful pages to links such as "Parent Respect in Sport"  and "Rowan's Law". This is informatio required for first time players.

There has been considerable discussion in the Media re: parental concerns about the health and safety of their children as it relates to the upcoming school year.  Some/ many of you may have similar questions as it relates to the resumption of minor hockey.  

The WSMHA has been working steadily over the past six months to prepare and obtain approval for our return-to-play plan.  The foundation of this plan is the health and safety of players, volunteers and spectators.  The attached health and safety plan has been endorsed by the OMHA.  We trust that it will answer any questions you may have re: the measures which will be in place to protect you and your loved ones when hockey resumes.  As always, we invite your questions and suggestions. We had anticipated on opening registration on Monday August 17th during our initial planning stage. While we are waiting on authorization from the governing bodies to open registration and accept payments, we have now tentatively set our new registration date to Tuesday September 01.

Please remember that all players must register thru the Hockey Canada Registration page (recreational or competative program) and then those who are interested in the competative house league program will apply thru a link that will be provided on our website.

By now most of us have become accustomed to the many uncertainties Covid-19 has brought to our daily lives.  In the midst of all this uncertainty we are very much aware that members of the minor hockey community would welcome some indication of what the upcoming hockey season might look like.  The WSMHA Board has been in constant contact with both municipal authorities and our minor hockey governing bodies over the past four months and based on their input we are now in a position to provide a return- to- play plan for the 2020-21 season. While some elements of this plan still need to be finalized and others could change, we believe the following will enable you to proceed with your personal hockey plans with some confidence.
