"WE WANT TO KEEP KIDS IN THE GAME"
We live in an affluent area, but not every Stouffville family can afford for their children to play hockey. That's where the Kids First Fund offers a helping hand.
The Whitchurch-Stouffville Minor Hockey Association established the Kids First Fund in 2011 to provide assistance for local children who wanted to play hockey, but were prevented from doing so by family financial circumstances. The fund can cover registration fees and equipment costs for qualified families. Dozens of players have already been aided by the Kids First Fund.
If you are a parent of a child in need of assistance or if you know of a family that might qualify for help, contact the WSMHA administrator in the hockey office at the Stouffville Arena. They will forward your request or referral to the Kids First Fund Committee for consideration. All requests for assistance are handled in confidence.
The mission of the Committee is "to provide assistance to families within the Whitchurch-Stouffville community and ensure that all children have an opportunity to play hockey"
