Season Opener vs. Innisfil Winterhawks
The Stouffville Clippers opened the 2010-2011 season playing host to the Innisfil Winterhawks.
The Clippers controlled most of the play throughout the game with good puck movement, aggressive forechecking and good team speed. Despite this solid play, the Innisfil team proved to be a little too opportunistic with their scoring chances and won the game 5-3.
The level of compete from Stouffville was prevalent all night. The team did not shy away from a very big and aggressive Innisfil team. When Stouffville fought back from a two goal deficit to tie the game 3-3 with 6 minutes to go, it looked as though Stouffville was in a position to press for the win. But, a broken play in the Clipper defensive zone with an unfortunate bounce going the other way, resulted in the winning goal for Innisfil.
All in all it was a pretty solid effort to start the season.
