Clippers earned an early lead on January 25th, scoring at 5:43 of the first (Wood #4 unassisted). Rodgers (#10) made it a 2 goal lead at 12:57 of the second (assisted by Brown #11). The 2 goal advantage held up through 2 subsequent penalty assignments as the Clippers managed to stave off the Star offence.
However, the tides turned late in the second with Richmond Hill scoring with 2:28 remaining. RH tied it up at 10:15 of the third, but not final, period.
The game went the distance with a full 10 minute overtime, neither team scoring.
Richmond Hill is now seeded #1 in the Round Robin play, preparing for the York Simcoe quarter-final playdowns which should start in the next week or so.
Clippers face Orillia terriers Thursday, January 27th at home, and then again in Orillia on Sunday, January 30th.
