Congratulations! To our Major Peewee AA team for their successful Championship win at
this past weekend’s Oshawa Hockeyfest Tournament.
Their first game on Friday morning against
the Oshawa Generals resulted in a 2-1 win, then a 2nd stellar win of
5-1 late Friday night against the Vic-Haute Yamaska team from Quebec. Even
though the Clippers had a 3-2 loss their
3rd game Saturday night against the Waterloo Wolves, they knew their hard work and determination
paid off as they were moving on to the Semi Finals Sunday.
The Clippers were motivated to play their Semi Final Game Sunday at noon against the St. Catherines Falcons. The game started off with a goal from the opponent in the 1 st period, then the Clippers scored 2 in the 2nd period to give them the confidence to work harder to turn this game around. Three goals in the 3rd period helped the Clippers move on with a 5-3 win.
The Clippers faced the Waterloo Wolves again in the Championship game late Sunday afternoon. No goals were scored until the 2nd period until 2 goals were scored by the Clippers. With a goal from the Waterloo Wolves early in the 3rd period making the game 2-1, the Clippers knew they had to step up their game. A final goal by the Clippers solidified their game to a 3-1 victory to win the championship!
Congrats Clippers & Coaches!
