Tryout Schedule (Whitchurch Stouffville Minor Hockey Association)

Spring Player Evaluations:

Spring Player Evaluations will be for players U10 (2015) to U18 (2007/2008) starting April 27, 2024.

Fall Player Evaluations:

Fall Player Evaluations will be for players U9 (2016) and below starting September 2024.

U18 Player Evaluations will conclude in the fall.

Select Player Evaluations:

Player Evaluations for Select at all age groups will take place in September 2024. Additional information will be posted in late August or early September.

If a player is not successful at the U8 or U9  evaluations, they may attend the CPP evaluations.

To help speed up the process at the registration table, please fill in the WSMHA Player Evaluation Registration form a minimum of at least 3 days prior to the Evaluation.

Player Evaluation Fees:

There is a flat fee of $80 per player for 2024-25 Player Evaluations. Please note: There are no refunds. No Cash will be accepted at the Player Evaluation Desk: We accept Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Android Pay and Debit.

Player Evaluation Jerseys:

A loaner jersey with a number will be provided to players for Evaluations. Goalies are asked to bring their own jersey.

Under 10 to Under 18:

Any player hoping to play REP hockey (AA or A) for Stouffville are expected to attend the AA evaluation for their age group. However, for divisions where we are offering BB as the 2nd team, players who do not wish to participate in a league where body checking is permitted are not required to attend AA Player Evaluations i.e., they can attend BB Evaluations only. U12 and up players who try for but fail to obtain a spot on the AA may request an “NRP Passport” if it is determined that there is no Stouffville A Player Evaluations at that level and may attend “A” Player Evaluations at a nearby “A” centre. Such players are still eligible to return to Stouffville to try for BB if applicable. Please note: NRP passports to try out at an “A” centre will not be issued to players who do not first attend AA Player Evaluations.

Under-age Players:

Players who wish to attend a Stouffville AA rep team evaluation in the next older age group may do so if they obtain a Request To Attend Older Age Evaluation form from the hockey office prior to the Player Evaluations.

Formation of Teams Note:

The formation of all teams is dependent on having enough players and goalies, and the availability of a coaching staff. WSMHA cannot guarantee that all teams listed will be rostered. No Player Evaluation refunds will be given if a team cannot be formed.

NRP Info:

Non resident players (NRP) with a "passport" (for AA teams) are not required to register and pay the WSMHA House League fee before Player Evaluations but they must complete the WSMHA REP Player Evaluation Registration form and pay the evaluation fee.

AAA Player Evaluations:

Any Stouffville resident planning to attend a AAA Player Evaluation must obtain a permission-to-skate form from the Hockey Office prior to the Evaluation. You will not be allowed on the ice without this form. Stouffville residents may try for Markham Waxers at AAA; they may try with another AAA team if they first obtain a permission-to-skate from the Waxers.
