A great year for the Novice AE Clippers
Submitted By Charlene on Monday, March 25, 2019
This
season saw many challenges and obstacles. From the onset we moved up into the
YSMHL Novice A loop, due to several teams folding at the Novice AE level. With
a structured and focused program placing a strong emphasis on skating the team
progressed and were competitive playing a level up. In the OMHA playoffs we
came back down to the AE loop and beat Markham and Newmarket in the
quarterfinal round robin going a perfect 6 wins and 2 ties.
Our next challenge placed us against a strong Oakville Rangers team in the semi-finals. We swept the Ranger 3 games to 0. In the OMHA finals we played the Orangeville Flyers who had swept every team in the playoffs thus far. Game 1 in Orangeville saw us shock everyone with our Clippers coming out on top 4-1. We then lost the next three games in a very hard fought series. Game 2 final 3-2 L, Game 3 2-1 L and Game 4 3-1 L. The kids represented Stouffville with class and respect. They earned a banner for our association that they can fondly look back on whenever they come to the rink. Well done Clippers.
