Minor Bantam MD Clippers win Silver in Lake Placid
The Stouffville
Clippers Minor Bantam MD team attended the CanAm Tournament in Lake
Placid (November 7-10).
The Clippers were
the only Canadian team out of the 8 in their division.
The Clippers
won all 4 of their round robin games against: New England Predators
(7-0), NECYH Seahawks (5-4), Boston Jr Eagles (4-2), NW Coyotes
(3-2) placing them in first place and
earning them a spot in the Gold Medal game.
In the Gold medal game, the Clippers made it challenging with an impressive 20 shots on net. Aggressive backchecking and strong defence resulted in no score until the 2nd period. A tight game led to a final score of 2-1 with the Clippers taking home the Silver and rounding out a great team effort by all the players.
The Clipper were also awarded with a plaque honouring them for the least penalty minutes. This is a credit to their sportsmanlike conduct both on and off the ice and the respectful manner in which they represented their hometown. We are extremely proud of their efforts and success at Lake Placid. Congratulations Clippers!
