Stouffville Clippers U16MD wins Silver at York Simcoe Championship
The Clippers U16MD team finished 2nd at the end of the regular season earning them a playoff spot in the York Simcoe U16 MD playoffs.  There was a new format this year with a tournament style playoff.

In the Round Robin, their first game was against Aurora Black and our boys tied 2-2. The second game was against Markham Waxers (Blue) and we won 4-2. The final game  of the the boys came out with a win against Markham Waxers (White) and the score was 4-0.   The Clippers were in 1st place after the round robin and were set to face off against Markham Blue in the Semi Finals. The clippers came out with the win with a score of 3-2 over Markham.   The Clippers were excited at the opportunity to once again be heading to the York Simcoe Finals as their 2020 U14 MD YS Playoff run was cut short due to covid. In 20202, they also qualified for the York Simcoe Finals against Georgina.  Back to 2022 and this time  we would be playing against one of Aurora’s two teams (Black) in the YS finals.   The Stouffville Arena was packed. Our Clippers Team played well and were ahead by 2 goals. In the final minutes of the game, Aurora tied the game 3-3 at the end of regulation. The game was going to go into overtime.  The OT started with 3 on 3 and, sadly for us, Aurora was the first to score and the game ended with 4-3 overtime win for Aurora. The Clippers U16MD won Silver.   We are extremely proud of the efforts of this team and the exciting hockey they play at every game.
