Spirit to sponsor "team of the week"
Submitted By Charlene Mason on Saturday, October 30, 2010
CONGRATULATIONS!
The first two Teams of the Week have been announced.
For week ending October 24th, the team of the week from the Atom house league division was Canadian Tire.
For week ending October 31st, the team of the week from the Peewee house league division was also Canadian Tire.

Both teams will receive tickets to an upcoming Stouffville Spirit home game.

The Stouffville Spirit announced that they will sponsor a minor hockey "Spirit Team of the Week".  Each week from now until the end of the season a team will be selected from the WSMHA House League and recognized with free tickets to an upcoming Spirit game.  Teams will be chosen by coaches and convenors based on such factors as work ethic, sportsmanship and teamwork.  Special consideration will also be given to teams who contribute in some way to our community through volunteer or charitable fund-raising activities.

Winners will be posted on wsmha.com.

Stouffville House League VP Joe Palma said "This is the first of several initiatives undertaken by the Spirit and Stouffville Minor Hockey to 'connect' the minor and junior programs in a way that adds value to both. As well as sponsoring a Team of the Week,  Spirit players will be available available to help out with practices, and they've offered their dressing room to our teams for special occasions.  These all add some fun and excitement for our players and enable the Junior team to get more involved with their fans and the Community in general."
