The U9MD Stouffville
Clippers ventured to Niagara on the Lake for their first ever full ice
tournament and returned as the tournament champions.
They started the
tournament off with a strong 8-2 win over Norwood in the first game on
Friday. On Saturday the clippers put up
a dominant defensive game by posting a 3-0 win in the morning over the hosts,
Niagara on the Lake and then a 9-0 win over Glancaster in the afternoon to
secure 2nd overall for Sundays playoffs.
In the Semi-final on
Sunday morning the clippers continued their strong play and beat West Hill 8-0
to clinch a spot in the finals.
Despite a number of
challenging obstacles in the final game, the clippers showed amazing
perseverance and resiliency and managed to tie the game with 1:47 to go in the
3rd period to force overtime.
After overtime resolved nothing, they went to a shootout where the
clippers won in the 4th round to win the Championship.
This win is a
testament to the hard work and effort by all the players and will help continue
to set a strong foundation for them to continue to develop and progress. Congratulations Clippers on your hard-fought
victory! Go Clippers Go!
