Buffalo Sabres’ forward Cody Hodgson will be on the ice in Stouffville before he returns to Western New York next season.The 22-year-old Markham resident has confirmed he’ll play in the second annual Hockey Night in Stouffville Aug. 23.
Markham-Oak Ridges MP Paul Calandra is hosting the event again in support of Markham Stouffville Hospital and the Whitchurch-Stouffville Minor Hockey Association.


Ex-NHLer Keith Acton of Stouffville will also play again.
Invites have gone out to former and current pros and MPs.
Mr. Hodgson, a first round draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks in 2008 who starred for Canada at the world junior championships in 2009, was traded to Buffalo Feb. 27.
Area pros who played last year included Stephen Weiss, Raffi Torres, Ethan Werek, Simon Gysbers and Will Acton.
