Bantam AA Clippers win Motown tournament
Submitted By charlene on Monday, November 17, 2014

Congratulations to the Bantam AA Clippers on winning the Motown Cup in Detroit Nov 14-16.
The Clippers went 2 and 1 in round robin play.  In Game 1 on Friday, they defeated the Youngstown Phantoms (Pittsburgh) 3-1.  On Saturday afternoon, the Clippers lost their only game of the tournament, playing at the Joe Louis arena, to the Port Huron Flags in a close game 4-5.  Facing elimination in Game 3 on Saturday night, the Clippers delivered a stronger performance, defeating the Redford Royals (Detroit) 6-4.   Learning from their experience with a late curfew on Friday night, after attending the Blackhawks  vs. Red Wing game, an earlier curfew was set for Saturday night.  The team delivered their best performance of the tournament in the Finals on Sunday.  With an empty net goal late sealing the victory, the Clippers defeated the Phantoms 3-0 to take home the cup.
