IP Rostered Selects Bring Home the Gold in Brampton!
Submitted By charlene on Monday, December 8, 2014
The IP Rostered Select team won Gold in their division at the Bob Giroux Memorial Tournament in Brampton this past weekend. The team was undefeated through 4 games. On Friday morning, the Clippers beat the Peterborough Petes Maroons by a score of 6-1.  On Friday afternoon, they blanked the Leaside Flames 5-0 and held them to only 1 shot on goal.    On Saturday evening, they faced the Whitby Murphy and had a decisive 6-2 victory to win their grouping and move to the final championship game on Sunday morning against the Ajax Knights.

Despite falling behind 1-0 in the first period, the Clippers rallied with a tying goal by Jack Ward-Parent, then a go-ahead goal by Maxim Skinner, both in the 3rd period.  Late in the 3rd period, the Knights tied it up on a power play and the game went to a sudden death overtime period.  At 5:48 in overtime, Caiden Clair potted the winner with a beautiful shot, and the Clippers won the division!  The tournament organizers selected Clippers Goalie Evan Minacs as game MVP and all players on both sides were congratulated.

The players for the IP RS Clippers are Lucas Russo, Marek St. Croix, Corey Blandizzi, Joey Barnaby, Yanni Geridis, Caitlyn Krabi, Michael Casey, Ronen MacFarlane, Marshall Bradbury, Devin Smith, Caiden Clair, Kieran McMullen, Jack Ward-Parent, Logan Stuteley, Zach Gardner, Maxim Skinner and goalie Evan Minacs.

Congratulations Clippers!
