Clippers Suffer Last Minute Loss To Winterhawks
The Clippers end win streak in a last minute loss to Innisfil on Wednesday, December 8th.
The Winterhawks started the action with their first goal at 8:22 of the second on a point shot to the top corner, maybe deflected inadvertently by one of our sticks, and struck again in the first minute of the third. It wasn't looking too hopeful for the Clipper until Carrick (19) put one in, assisted by Von Kaufmann and Brown.
The Clippers rallied with the CHICKEN DANCE playing in the background and found a bit more spirit to give. Rodgers scored next at 6:13 in the third, and suddenly we were looking at a tie with time to make it a win.
Innisfil gave up another penalty, but the powerplay wasn't working on this night, not even with a 5 on 3 advantage.
At least a point was in order, until Innisfil's speed and talent broke through, circling both defense and beating Matthews with only 43 seconds left on the clock.
While the loss stings, the rally counted for something. The Carrick's CLuck for Pucks tally is up, and some other volunteer parents are contributing extra farmyard dollars to the cause for assists.
