Clippers Bring Home a WIN from Centennial
The Clippers were back on the winning side in their second league match with the Waxers. Montanari earned the shut out, putting aside a number of quality attempts by the Waxers. The play showed a close match up, but the Clippers had the edge throughout the game.
Still it wasn't until Connor (18) moved the puck to the slot on the power play, where Hayden (8) made good on a perfect shot through the middle to put up the first goal of the game at 4:52 of the second.
Michael (27) put in an insurance goal at 1:16 of the second to bring the score to 2-0, nad earning him the hard hat player of the game.
The game was a bit grittier than the early side fo the season, and the Clippers are battling harder to win the puck and keep the opposing team's chance to a minimum. This is the kind of play we are expecting in the last weeks of regular play as we battle for standings in the OMHA playdowns. Only the top 4 teams will play in OMHA level playoffs. With continued tenacity and grit, the Clippers have a good chance to take one of these spots.
Twelve more shopping days, and three more Minor Atom AE games before Christmas, all of them promising to demand our top play to collect the 2 points per game that we need to earn an OMHA spot.
Come out and cheer on the Clippers in the COUNT DOWN TO CHRISTMAS!!!!
GO CLIPPERS GO!
