The WSMHA Board of Directors recently approved the registration fee structure for the 2012-13 season. Fees for Initiation Program (IP) and Novice players will be increased from $525 to $550. Registration fees for all other age groups will remain at the current $550 per player. According to WSMHA President Don Easter, the Association is moving away from its traditional policy of charging a lower fee for players in the younger divisions. "There may have been some logic to this practice in the past. At one time the first and second year players may have played fewer games or had less practice time than their older counterparts.
That is no longer the case and we felt it was appropriate
to bring these fees into line with what all other players in our program were
being charged."
"The good news" says Easter "is that apart from IP and Novice we
are going to hold the line on registration fee increases for next season
despite the fact that our ice costs, which represent 67 cents of every dollar
we spend, continue to increase. We also plan to continue our efforts to enhance
our House League and Rep programs through skill development and other
initiatives which means that our members are getting better value for their
registration dollar".
Registration opens on Friday, April 13th. Visit www.wsmha.com to register.
