Goaltender clinics start this Saturday at the Clipper Complex. Goalies from Tyke to Minor Peewee are on the ice 8-9:00am, Peewee and older 9-10:00am. The ten-week program, the cost of which has been included in rep team assessments, is open to all Clipper rep goalies. A similar program for House League goalies will be announced shortly. The WSMHA Goaltender Development Program is under the direction of Carson Bird.
Following his own successful minor hockey career which culminated in
try-outs with the Ontario Under 17 team and the Oshawa Generals,
Carson in recent years has worked extensively as a goaltender instructor with
several AAA organizations including the Whitby Wildcats and Central Ontario
Wolves as well as Junior A and Junior C teams.
There are a limited number of openings for Major and Minor Midget-age players
as "shooters" for the goalie clinics. Players who are interested in
community service hours should email their contact information to [email protected].
