Whitchurch Stouffville Minor Hockey Association

Whitchurch-Stouffville children and young teens who don’t know how to skate can learn free of charge this fall, thanks to a local program being offered for the fourth year. Learn to Skate is aimed at girls and boys aged 5 to 14 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of skating. The program, which is being supported by Hockey Canada, is fully sponsored by Stouffville’s Kids First Fund.

Select evaluations are scheduled to start September 18th. Team formation will be based on player interest and the availability of coaches. Some age groups may be combined in order to form a team. The evaluations will be conducted in two age groups but does not necessarily mean there will only be 1 team. Details and the registration form are now available on our website 2025 Select Tryouts

Registration has been temporarily closed so that the volunteers can sort through and set up the divisions. Additional registrations may be available once all the divisions have been finalized. Please be patient while we sort through this. Hockey helmets are essential for helping to protect hockey players of all ages from serious head injuries, but not all helmets are created equally. Trusted manufacturers work with third-party testing and certification organizations like CSA Group to rigorously test helmets for safety, durability, and effectiveness. However some counterfeit helmets have recently been discovered for public sale using forgeries of the CSA label. These helmets have not undergone proper safety standard testing and pose a potential risk to player safety.
