The WSMHA is now accepting applications for Representative team coaches for the U8 to U18 divisions. We are seeking dedicated, experienced individuals who are committed to fostering player development and supporting a positive team environment. Whitchurch-Stouffville children and young teens who haven’t played hockey previously can learn free of charge this winter, thanks to a local program being offered for the fourth year. Come Try Hockey is aimed at girls and boys aged 5 to 14 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of the game. The program, which is being supported by Hockey Canada, is fully sponsored by Stouffville’s Kids First Fund, an offshoot of the Whitchurch-Stouffville Minor Hockey Association.

Every season the WSMHA reaches out to players/parents to get their feedback. The association is interested in your thoughts regarding team staff as well as player/parent opinion on how the season is progressing. Hockey helmets are essential for helping to protect hockey players of all ages from serious head injuries, but not all helmets are created equally. Trusted manufacturers work with third-party testing and certification organizations like CSA Group to rigorously test helmets for safety, durability, and effectiveness. However some counterfeit helmets have recently been discovered for public sale using forgeries of the CSA label. These helmets have not undergone proper safety standard testing and pose a potential risk to player safety.
