In tense and exciting game, the Novice AE Clippers battled the Innisfil Winterhawks to a draw. Play was very much back and forth, but the Clipper back check was better, which limited the Winterhawk offence to just 6 shots on goal over the course of the game. Despite Stouffville’s out shooting and out chancing Innisfil, the game was scoreless until 3:55 of the third period, when the Winterhawk offence finally broke through and put a shot past Clipper netminder Lysander K. In no way disheartened, however, the Clippers responded quickly with a goal of their own, when just 15 seconds later Ethan M. put the puck on net, and Matthew G. found the rebound, shoveling it under the Winterhawk goalie’s pad to tie the game. The game would end in a 1-1 tie.

The applause was heard two towns over! The yelling and cheers were deafening, and it came from one very proud mom! It was the second goal of the night for the Clippers but the first goal of the season for Sebastian S. and his first ever rep goal! The goal was assisted by Matthew G. and announced to all with an overwhelming ovation by Joanne S! The first goal of the night was scored by Owen U. (also to applause, of course!) and assisted by Ben V. and Sebastian S. Unfortunately, the Redmen remembered well the defeat the Clippers bestowed upon them the a week earlier and stepped up their game. Clipper goalie Lysander K. stood his ground against the Redmen offence, stopping 31 of 35 shots, but even that spectacular effort wasn’t enough to win this bout. The Clippers lost 4-2.

Meeting for the second time this season, the Novice AE Clippers faced off against the Innisfil Winterhawks on Thursday night, losing 2-0 in a very close game. Both teams played defensively and back-checked well; neither team allowed many shots on goal. Despite out-chancing the Winterhawks throughout the game, a goal for the Clippers just wasn’t in the cards. There were many good things happening on the ice for the Clippers. All tried hard individually, but they weren’t able to coordinate their efforts for a win.

There is no sweeter place to win than home! Thursday the Novice AE Clippers defeated the Newmarket Redman 3-2 in what can only be described as a very spirited game. Despite being out-paced by the skilled Newmarket team for most of the game, the Clippers capitalized on the chances they got and worked hard to put pucks behind the Redmen netminder. Scoring for the Clippers was Matthew G. (his second goal in as many games), assisted by Sebastian S. and Ryan O. Then, just fourteen seconds later, Owen U. scored his second goal in two games, with an assist by Madison R. The winning goal was unassisted and potted  by Brandon J.—his fifth goal in four games! The Novice AE Clippers travelled to face their furthest competitors, the Orillia Terriers, on Tuesday night. Missing from the roster was defenceman Jayden R., but despite being short on the blue line, the Clippers battled hard. Clipper goaltender Noah A. was solid in net, making 14 saves, but even that was not enough to beat the Terriers in their own building. The Clippers lost a close decision 4-3. Scoring for the Clippers was Brandon J., assisted by Ben V. and Ethan M. Also, Matthew G. scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Sebastian S. and Ethan H., while the Clippers’ third goal was put in the net by Owen U., assisted by Ben R.

In the second game of their three-game road trip, the Novice AE Clippers went down fighting against the Innisfil Winterhawks, losing a 2-1 decision. Goalie Lysander K. was superb for the Clippers, turning away 15 of 17 shots, and Brandon J. continued his scoring streak putting up another goal, bringing his streak to three points in two games. Assisting on the goal were Ethan M. and Ben V.
