Minor Atom "AE", 2012-2013 (Whitchurch Stouffville Minor Hockey Association)

It's hard to believe - but it is now finally over! Our Clipper Minor Atom AE squad formed a team approximately 11 months ago - some returning players, some new... One returning coach, 3 new... All fueled with enthusiasm and ready to become a TEAM. Coach Ross kicked off the year, meeting with the families and stating up front - this is about development.  These kids are all talented.  They all have room to grow.  That's what we're about.  And we're going to be a competitive team.  The kids will learn what it takes to "compete".

We're still going, and the Clippers have forced a game 5 vs the Barrie Colts.  Great team effort in Game 4, with an exciting first time ever OT for the Minor Atom AE Clippers.  Fill the gas tanks, parents!  See you all in Barrie on Friday to resume play against our northern neighbours.  And don't forget your COW BELLS !!!! We're just about a round and a half into playoffs folks, and our Clipppers have seen some of their toughest challenges.  Good news, they are looking sharper than the photo gallery! The record book will only show a 2-0 final, with 3 straight losses to TNT.  Superficial stats observers and critics will see a team showing 6 consecutive losses. What people who know the Minor Atom AE team and have seen this past month of games really know is that the Clippers played some impressive hockey, and for the most part, have been competitive all the way. 

The Minor Atom AE Clippers kicked off their first round of OMHA's this weekend, going in as underdogs in fourth spot against the formidable power of first placed TNT. TNT took control in game 1, putting up 5 unanswered goals from the first puck drop through to the third period.  Game 2 saw a different Clipper team come out to play, challenging TNT stride for stride and coming back with each of the first 2 goals scored, holding the line at a 2-2 tie, fending off a number of penalties, until TNT put up #3 with 3 minutes to go.
