The Clippers continue to battle to secure one of the four OHMA playoff spots in the Minor Atom AE division, entering the home stretch with a month left in the regular season.
Stouffville faced contending rival Aurora in a key matchup on Thursday, January 3rd.
The first period saw the Tigers drawing first blood but our Clippers evened the score before the end of the first with a faceoff draw by Hayden (8) back to Jacob (11) who put a seeing eye shot from the point past a surprised Tiger netminder. Unfortunately that was the only time the puck hit the twine for the Clippers.
Both teams moved the puck well in a fairly evenly played game but Stouffville was unable to convert its chances, while at the other end the Tigers connected twice more to take the game 3 - 1.
The standings are now tightening up but with a toal of six games to go, three of which will see Clippers face top contenders (Aurora, TNT and RH), the Clippers control their own destiny. Let's go get 'em Clippers!
