Changing it up in Georgina
The team was pumped to be against Georgina and to get onto the ice. They started off the game with an early goal by John who was assisted by his line mates and the defense players who were holding that blue line. The other goal came 4 minutes later with a pass by Savannah up to Lucas who passed it over to Fam who took a shot and scored. In the second period the kids were ready to keep the scoring going. The defence was able to pass it up toward the net and Nicholas was able to score another goal.
Followed by Lucas scoring a goal by an assist from Mason. With all the action Coach Mike decided to move the lines around and gave the kids a chance to see the game from a different position. Helping them to understand that all positions on the team are difficult and important in winning games.
So he moved up the defence and moved back the forwards and centres. Right away Sara took to the forward position and got her first goal with help from John and David! Yahoo!
It was a terrific game and seeing the kids being out of their comfort zones and trying a new position was really exciting for them!
