The MPW AE Clippers are ripe and ready to face off for yet another Thanksgiving Tourney... It's only right.  We went State Side for Canadian Thanksgiving, and brought home what is now renowned as Lucy's Turkey Platter.  This weekend marks US Thanksgiving, and the Clippers will stay in Canada to experience their own version of Black Friday Door Crashing, as they face Napanee in game 1 of the Cobourg Silver Stick. This is the Clippers first Silver Stick and promises a tough round of competition, starting with Napanee, Clarington, then Whitby.  GOBBLE GOBBLE CLIPPERS! 

The MPW AE Clippers headed south for Thanksgiving, attending their first away tournament in state-side Niagara Falls, NY.  Truth be told, in the early planning stages there was much hope that the tourney would see the Clippers coming back well in time to enjoy Thanksgiving Monday amidst the homestead with all the trimmings.  But the tournament schedule was such that which ever way you cut it, the team would play game 3 early Monday morning.  As in EARLY.  Like remember timbits-hockey EARLY???  

The MPW crew set out to Elgin Barrow, down a few players but ready to give the Stars a hard time.  The first period saw the Clippers a bit slow to start on the board, but Nick finally broke the spell, putting up the first point, assisted by Dylan at 2:04.  The scoreboard stayed at 1-0 for the next 7 or so minutes, until Jesse made good on a break away back-hander over the pads, unassisted at 9:49 of the second. The MPW AE boys have completed two sets with Barrie, hosting the Colts for a victorious Home Opener on September 21, and traveling to Holly Rec on September 29th for a tie decision. Barrie proved to be as fierce as in previous years, and yes, the cow bells still ring and the glass still resonates to the beat of the Colts' sticks.  Barrie does not go quietly for sure.  But Nowaskey was equal to the task in both match-ups, making athletic, show-stopping saves to keep the Clippers in play.

Calling all Clippers Fans!!  MPW AE is hosting their annual home opener and tailgate party. come support our Clippers team with some face painting Black , Red, and White.  Meet your favourite MPW Clipper and get an autograph. Food and refreshments will also be provided Sunday September 21st,  Stouffville Arena Tailgates 3;30-6pm  Game time 7pm vs Barrie Colts
