The Tyke B team was on the road yesterday, down in Milliken to face a very good Markham Waxer team. Carlo knows our Tyke B's are all just getting started with the rep hockey scene, and for some of the teams we are facing, we have some catching up to do.
"It comes with experience, and more ice time," says Carlo. "The kids are doing great, and you can see them making smarter plays with each game we're playing. Some of our back-checking today was awesome!!!"
The goalies both faced a lot of shots on net, and in total, let only 4 go by. Not bad at all. And as the game progressed, the Clippers started getting some shots too. As easy as that sounds, it's much harder to do. It's the little things, like puck control when turning, getting to the puck first, quick starts and stops. None of this is insurmountable - it's just a bit more ice time and practice.
The team is coming along and most importantly, learning each time they face talented opposition.
