The Clippers took an early lead and capitalized quickly, lighting up the scoreboard with 4 goals in the first period of play at CC1 on November 30th.
Michael kicked things off on his first shift, assisted by Charlie. David made it 2, then Michael kept things going, again paired with another assist by 91. That should have been it for the period, but for Evan putting up a goal, nicely assisted by Aidan (#6) who was called up last minute to sub-in for Matt, who was a scratch with an upper body injury (aka strep :).
The Clippers had things well in hand, leading 4-0, but in the second period the goal-scoring went dry, and Innisfil's netminder made some fantastic saves and cover-ups. Indeed, the second and third periods were hats-off to the MVP goalies at both ends. Ethan was on his game and smothered a number of shots, and stood tall to foil a hard break away play by the Hawks. He nearly had the shut out, but Innisfil made good on a rebound scramble that the Clippers could not clear under pressure.
Things resumed back and forth, the Hawks showing grit and spirit and the Clippers tiring a little, until Charlie picked up a puck and flew coast to coast marking one more unassisted in the final minute, marking a 3 point game for 91.
Final 5-1 for the boys in white.
