The Wildcats purred into Pad A for a mid-Christmas break exhibition match-up. They had lots to roar about as they quickly lit up the board with 3 in the first, and another 2 still unanswered in the second. The Clippers were rather short benched, missing a total of 6 players, mainly from the sniping squad, and fielding only 7 forwards and 4 defense.
Pacheco played between the posts and made some outstanding saves and the Wildcats pressed hard and fast and put on what amounted to a passing-play clinic.

Whitby Christmas ExhibitionJesse broke the spell for the Clippers, putting in a beauty at 2:22 of the second (assisted by Cal and Mick). The Wildcats responded by ratcheting up the score with another to close the second period at 6-1. The Clippers, to their huge credit, did not give up, and scored again early in the third (Matty from Cal and Connor) and once again, this time Cal from Alec and Mick. Those pussy-cats were not happy to tighten the gap, so they too put in a couple more goals. Final: 8 - 3 for the visitors.
The Clippers never gave up and played a great game against this very strong team. The Wildcats and Clippers have exchanged exhibition games a number of times over the past 3 seasons, and both teams and the coaches on both sides know that matches like this help tune the team, and are a great chance to try some different things and stretch the hockey muscles in a friendly match up.
The game concluded with a continuous 15 minutes of shoot-out - THANKS TO OUR REFS, Connor and Ed and TK Ben for hanging around and letting the teams enjoy the full ice slot. Clippers edged out Whitby in shootout scoring with some pretty funky dynamics courtesy of Matty's glove maneuver and some spinorama shots on net.
