Three Quarters Through Round Robin
The Atom AE Clippers are three quarters through their round robin play-off series, down 2 to Tottenham in a 4-1 loss, followed by a 5-1 defeat on home ice, Saturday February 8th. The Tottenham Tornadoes dominated play, and consistently showed jump in getting to the puck and winning the battles. Charlie lit up the board at 13:03 of the 2nd, assisted by Alec, in a skate from the defensive blue line through to the wide left side, making the score tied at 1-1 for a brief time.
But TNT showed characteristic resilience and came right back at 12:44 to pull ahead to 2-1 and never looked back.
Georgina is the third team in the round robin series. In our first match up last weekend, Ethan was getting ready for the big game, getting a `goalie focus`going, and whatever it was it worked! Ethan earned a big shut-out, and the Clippers enjoyed a strong lead resulting in a 7-0 win.
Today, the team will once again face-off with the Blaze to conclude the round robin series. Once the series is finalized, the Clippers and the Blaze will move into the York-Simcoe playdowns based on seeding.
