Barrie White gives Clippers the Blues, Offset by Victory over Barrie Blue
Confused?

Well playing Barrie these days requires more than a map and directions up the 400.  Truly Barrie must be recognized for its depth of hockey, as it is routinely fielding 2 teams at each level of play in many divisions.  So Playing Barrie means a double-take on "which Barrie" are we talking about.

Our PWAE boys met up with our first encounter against Barrie (WHITE) on Sunday Sept 27 at Allandale.  The Barrie Colts stormed the ice to cowbells, horns and cheers... Yes, this is the Barrie rival we know and love from over the years, and they came out in full fanfare.  The cheers were for good reason.  The team play marked discipline, speed and mostly the difference was a HIGH COMPETE level with Barrie winning a number of puck battles and persisting with loose pucks around the net to gain 3 wrap arounds.

The pace was fast and the Colts prevailed in a 6-2 win as the buzzer declared a home town victory.

In a reversal of fortunes, the Clippers put Barrie BLUE behind the play, scoring a total of 6 goals on home ice, October 1st.  At one point it seemed Adrian might be aiming for shut out territory, but give credit to the speed and power skating of the Barrie squad, who generated a number of skilled 2 on 1 rushes.... with each and every one demonstrating perfect tape to tape passing giving the receiver the best chance at the net.  Barrie started to threaten as they landed 3 goals through the odd man rushes.

Both Barries are skilled opponents and both games gave the Clippers some work to do.  With split points in these match ups, Clippers are now 4 games into regular season, marking 3 W`s and 1 L.  Down 4, 26 to go.  Next up is Schomberg at Trisan, October 3rd, followed by 2 home games leading up to our Bradford Tourney play.

Stay tuned and seriously... I think we might need some cowbells, eh?
