Busy Week for Clippers
For those following, we are up one game this week against Bradford on their home ice, with a nice shut out earned by Ethan (final 2-0).  The Clippers played well and had their chances.  Still Bradford kept the scoreboard close.

In another tight battle Tuesday, Oct 27th, Barrie White defeated the Clippers 5-4.  The boys were on point, keeping it tight throughout the play, but Barrie managed 2 short-handed goals with notable sharp play by their #22, dangles, speed and trick or treat syle shooting.

Clippers had a tonne of chances in this, the second season match vs the White team from Barrie, but didn't convert on the open side with some nice passing and juicy rebounds not making it to their sticks.  The offence was fired up and managed to come back in three leads taken by Barrie.  Tied up at 4-4 in the closing minutes of the 3rd, and just as our offence seemed to have the upper hand, Barrie executed again in their return offensive onslaught, capitalizing sending 3 deep, leaving 2 D fending off the Barrie Colt forward attackers.  In a crushing moment, the Colts put in a game winning goal from the crease with only 24 seconds remaining.

It seemed darn right unfair, after the rallies that our Clippers has mustered, and the continuous great chances that just didn't convert.  Even with that last 24 seconds remaining, the Clippers managed another set of smart offensive plays, getting a nice shot square on the goal, and forcing a final face off with 8.6 seconds remaining.  Never say die - even then it was not hopeless, as the puck was shot, loosened and shot again in the scrum as the buzzer ended play.

Disappointing outcome, but not a disappointing game to watch.  We had our lapses, but we had our chances too. Good work boys - we'll get 'em next time.

So the Clippers are 1 and 1 so far for the week, and not done yet.  Our minion heroes go on to face Aurora on their home ice for a late showing on Friday.  Come on out for a pre-Halloween treat and watch our Clippers tame some Tigers!
